Zumo 450 Connection to Computer?????

| Hi, Zumo Users ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am considering the purchase of a Zumo 450 for use with my motorcycle.
I find that the information and pictures on the downloadable owner's
manual (from Garmin.com) are somewhat lacking in detail.
Is the cable connection to connect the Zumo 450 to the computer actually
on the GPS unit or is it on the slide-in cradle that is mounted on the bike?
In other words, can I simply lift the unit from the cradle and bring it
inside to the computer (like I do with my Quest 2) or must the whole
cradle/mount be brought in to hook up?
Or must the SD card be removed and put in the computer's card reader?
I saw a Zumo (550, NOT a 450 but I think they are physically the same)
at Fry's yesterday (displayed without a cradle) and I couldn't see where
a USB cable would be connected.
Thanks for any info.

I have the 550, and I think they are the same.
The mini USB connector is hidden under a flip-down panel on the bottom of
the GPS unit itself. There is no need to use a mount for any reason whilst
indoors.
It will even charge whilst attached to your computer via the USB lead.
HTH.

The connection is on the bottom of the GPS. You do not need nor can you
use the mount to connect to the computer.

Yes you can.

No.
Keep in mind that if you intend to use the GPS in a vehicle you may want
to consider the 550 that comes with the mount and cigarette lighter cord. If
you get the 450 and then have to buy the mount and cable you are getting
close to the price of the 550 or more if you can find a reman. 550. We had a
few of them but are sold out now. Hopefully we'll get more soon.
