Author Questions about 200 range

Hi,

I'm about to buy my first sat nav and I have decided on the 2** range.
I have a few questions which maybe someone can help me with.

1. I'm in Nothern Ireland and will mainly be using sat nav on island
of Ireland. I assume I need European map for Republic of Ireland or is
this included in UK maps? (I know Republic of Ireland is not part of
UK but Nothern Ireland is)

2. I like the text-to-speech feature and so am looking at the 260 but
this doesn't seem to be sold in many places in UK. Does this mean that
all preinstalled maps are of USA?

3. Picky question.... Where the normal text says "Turn right in 500
metres" does the text to speech feature say ..."Turn right in 500
metres onto Main street" or "Turn right onto Main street" ?

4. I will need USA map this summer and I wonder is it best to buy the
270 (with NA & EU installed) or just pickup a SDcard with NA on it
later?

5. How long do you get 'free' map updates with each new unit?

6. If I buy a 2** unit now, is it a good idea to wait until new NA
map comes out in April before registering it, to get new NA map or
does it not matter when I register it?

Thanks.

Thanks.
Dan

I think you'll find it much cheaper to get the 270 rather than buying
the NA map. I live in the US and occasionally need Europe maps. I
went with the 270, but had to give up the TTS.
