I live in England and use Mapsend Streets Europe on my SporTrak Pro.
I wanted to try firmware V5.34 but had been warned about bugs
compared to V4.06, which the unit came with, so Magellan sent me a
V4.06 file. I then flipped back and forth between the 2 firmware's
testing stuff out.

When I noticed bits of road missing at certain zoom levels with
V5.34, I switched back to V4.06 and tried again - the bits were
there! I've now found 3 bits of road like this - the zoom levels
they disappear at are not all the same. In all cases the bits of
road show properly at all zoom levels with V4.06.

Note that this is with the same basemap and the same uploaded
detailed map data, so it must be something in the firmware.

Interesting. I wonder if they changed the firmware to prevent this issue ...
How??... or if it is a seperate bug.

I do not have MS SE to check it out. My issues arose with Topo 3D USA and an
easy example is the road to the North Rim Grand Canyon National Park Lodge.

That appeared on all screens when I modified the files. The workaround would
clutter the screen in a urban area but I seldom use the GPS in those
environmnets.

IIRC, the default map detail level is different ont he two versions.
(Worse still, if you have DR on v5 firmware, it 'helpfully' changes the
stupid map detail level ever every time you enter a street goto)

Or it may be the the firmware is using (without your intervention) a
different detail level. Since there's one break point between detailed
map and basemap and a moving break point that depends on detail level,
it can give the impressions of roads "disappearing" on one zoom level
but showing up when going up or down a few levels.
