I noticed on the Magellan web site last night that Magellan had
apparently discontinued the BlueNav CD-ROM and is now offering the
BlueNav marine charting only on pre-programmed and unlocked SD cards.

The new charting is called BlueNav XL3 North America and BlueNav XL3
Europe and is offered in two lines, one for the eXplorist series and
another for the Meridian series.

The charting comes on 128mb SD cards and each card contains about three
times the charting as was on the now discontinued BlueNav XL cards. And
the price remained the same at $199.99 per card.

This morning I found this press release about the change:

http://www.magellangps.com/en/news/...ease.asp?id=442

One thing I would miss with the new format is that it does not come with
a PC application that can be used for browsing the charting and building
and editing routes.
