Magellan SporTrak Color : firmware upgrade?

| The firmware in my Magellan SporTrak Color is rev. 4.10 (June 5 2003).
I noticed at the Magellan site that there is a rev. 5.xx available,
although I am not sure what has been imroved in the new version. Can
someone explain whether I should upgrade or not?

Do not upgrade!!! It's no use is mij experience.
I went back too v4.10

| its a bit difficult to tell what has changed with most magellan
updates. the readme file says to check the web page, the web page says
to check the readme.
what is certain is that some of their newer mapping products
(DirectRoute for sure, possibly Topo 3D) will only work with versions
5.0 or higher.

If you use the built-in tides and currents functions, they will be
lost with the upgrade.
