Probably the same status as the promised November date.

Spoke with Magellan yesterday 2/1/06 and was told that the new release
date is 3 to 4 weeks out.

I think I smell a dead end product line....... run to EBAY and unload
soon. They sold stacks of them in the warehouse clubs at Christmas.

That's exactly what I'm thinking, but I don't know what to replace it with.
I'd like the next one to have a battery and no hard drive, but still have
the
full US coverage internal. I also need the loud speaker volume of the
700. Any suggestions?

Jim

Try Garmin.

You wont find it in Magellan. At least, I know I made mistake by buying a
Magellan Roadmate.

The Roadmate 700 is an excellent product but without updated maps it
will soon become antiquated. It's too bad Magellan orphaned it so
soon.
