Powering Explorist 500 while driving?

| I am planning some trips in my car later this year, and am planning on
taking my Explorist 500 with me. However, to this point I have not
purchased anything to recharge it while it's in the car. All I
currently have is the 110V plug-in power adapter which came with the unit
which connects into the usb cable.
What are others using to power their Exp 500 while on the road? Surely
there is a better solution than to have to lug the usb cable around
everywhere I go. Even Magellan on their web site only seems to sell an
adapter that plugs into the usb cable, and not a stand-alone cable that
connects directly to the gps unit.
Thanks for any advice!

| Hi
I ordered a separate charging cable fitting the Magellan 12 V adapter from
http://pc-mobile.net
Also ordered a small batteri box for 4 AA-batteries for a total of abaout $
20 from this Hongkong based company.
The things arrived after less than a week and work well.

| I use the cigarette lighter plug that cam with my HP Pocket PC. It has
a USB outlet on the end. You can get a simple cigarette lighter plug
that will accept a USB plug for around $10.00 USD
