Hello,
Another question; is the Explorist XL compatible with Mapsend Directroute
Europe.
And is there an vehicle mounting bracket for the XL. The other explorist are
smaller.
The XL has the same dimensions as the Meridian Color.

Yes......but......

I purchased the North American model which has the North American base
maps.
Then I purhcased the MapSend DirectRoute North America , which I am
very happy with.

I also purchased the MapSend DirectRoute Europe and was disappointed
since I also need the MapSend WorldWide Basemap to have full usage. It
seems that while the detail map is very good, when zooming out above
the .2 mile scale one needs the base map for the area. Since I am more
intersted in the detail, and not willing to spend the additional $99, I
will struggle a little when looking at big picture.

I am note familiar with the mount brackets. I just use the cup holder
in my car when driving. It does just fine.

By the way, here is the the link for the XL manual.

The eXplorist comes with a basemap already installed but you may use
MapSend Worldwide software (purchased separately) to define your own
basemap. You can use Active Setup to select the background map you want
to use if you have stored a new one.
Also, you can use one of the other MapSend software packages to define
and save detailed maps to your eXplorist. These detailed maps can
provide more detailed street information, additional POIs.
