Author Magellan 800 Firmware Upgrade?

We upgraded our Magellan 800 to the latest firmware release (1.04).
The new firmware looks great, however, the Roadmate Tools software can
no longer find the device on any USB ports. WinXP device manager shows
it in the list, so I don't understand why Roadmate can't find it
anymore. We've tried it on 3 different PCs, so it doesn't appear to be
a PC problem. Magellan tech support says there is no Roadmate update
available. Has anyone been able to upgrade the firmware and still be
able to use the USB connection?
