I plan to buy a mapping software progarm for my Meridian Gold. Which
is the best option? DirectRoute or topo 3d . USA, by the way

DirectRoute will give you street and highway details and allow you to
search for and route to street addresses.

Topo 3D gives you topo details similar to a USGS topo map at an
approximately 1:40K scale, will show any roads and highways that are
contained in the basemap and or that happen to appear in Topo 3D. You
will not have any autorouting or street level search with the topo
package.
