Is it free on their web site? Thales give free SD unlock codes for my RM 300
on their web site.

Which MapSend product are you using? As far as I know the only MapSend
product that require an unlock code for SD cards is the now discontinued
version of BlueNav that came on CD-ROM.

That either came with a Magellan/BlueNav branded SD card (32mb or 64mb
usually) that was pre-unlocked (usually as part of a Meriner Pack) or it
was the retail version and would have a software serial number on the
back of the CD-ROM case that would let you go online and unlock a SD card.

On the BlueNav CD's that came with a SD card, you need that specific SD
card to get it to work because the SD card and software are "locked" to
one another by the SD card serial number and the software serial number
on the CD-ROM during production. You may be able to purchase a
replacement pre-unlocked SD card from Magellan, you'd have to talk to
their tech support number about it.

On the versions with a software serial number on the back of the CD-ROM
case, if no one has previously unlocked a SD card for that CD-ROM, you
can go online and unlock one using the software serial number.

In either case, that installed version of BlueNav will only write a
detail map file to that one specific SD card. The unlocked SD card can
be used in any Meridian receiver.

My experience is only with the U.S. version but I think what I described
above holds true for all BlueNav versions.
