Author 860T Availability

None of the local major outlets have 860Tıs in stock, or perhaps havenıt
even ordered them yet. I always prefer to purchase from local merchants.

Several (most?) on-line merchants listed the 860T as ³out of stock². Others
had a limited number or were selling used stuff.

Called Magellan store, and the young lady who answered (after a long wait)
said that they are in high demand and production has not caught up. More to
the point, they too are Œout of stockı. She also said Magellan (Thales)
suggests that customers use retail merchants, as they will generally have
lower prices. Iım also implying from all this that their resellers are
getting first priority on deliveries. I assume that things like enable
codes still have to be purchased directly from Magellan, which seems to make
sense but can be pricey.

800ıs are available, but I canıt find the RDS Traffic upgrade kit for them
(supposed available in June), or for that matter for the 760 (supposed
available in March). I canıt even find them listed in the Magellan on-line
store. However, the 760T does seem to be available and generally in stock,
but couldnıt find one at local retailers.

Anyone have an actual 860T in hand to comment on?
