I've read one report that Topo 3D can be loaded via a card reader to an SD
card and then works in a Meridian Green.

Can anyone else verify this before I spend the money on Topo 3D?

Thanks!

The only Google reference I found to "Meridian GREEN" I found is to a folk
band. Perhaps you mean Meridan GOLD??

If you did mean Meridian Gold, I use MapSend Topo USA 3D with a Meridian
COLOR, which also has an SD card. I load lots of small "regions" of detail
from MapSend Topo onto the card and use them with no problems at all.

If in doubt, please look at the product box or perhaps the Magellan website
to see if Topo is listed as an accessory for the GPS of interest, or if
there is an "official" compatibility list. The Magellan website is
suspect - I note that Topo isn't listed under accessories for my (other)
Explorist unit even though it works fine with it.

Meridian "Green" is the Meridian GPS or "base" model. Green is the nickname
for the unit. It has a 2MB basemap.

I know the Topo 3D product box does not list the Meridian GPS, that's why
I'm posting the question. I don't want to spend the money if it's not
compatible.

According to this page on the Magellan website, Topo3D is compatible with several Meridian receivers, but not the "Green": http://www.magellangps.com/products/software.asp. Also, there are manuals on the website for "obsolete" products; you might want to look at them (under support).

According to this website:http://gpsinformation.net/MeridianFAQv2_0.pdf, " This base model's memory cannot be upgraded to allow it to operate like a MeriGold. Note that the "Green" model is now also available in yellow."

It looks like the Green model does not have an SD card slot. If that is the case, it would seem impossible to download any additional maps, like Topo3D, to it.

Gracious...

Does anyone have first hand experience with attempting to use Topo 3D with a MeriGREEN?

Thanks,

Will

I own a Meridian Green and Topo 3D. The green DOES have an SD slot and
the Topo works flawlessly with it.

Ciao.
