map updates for RM360

| I need an answer on this and it seems NOBODY can answer it. And the
technical support people at Magellan are not responding.
How are the maps updated on a Magellan Roadmate 360?
Can they be updated via downloaded data? If so, how? If not, then HOW?

and they will be phasing out the RM360 and going to the 3000 model.
What a
shame :-(

Yet they still must maintain a road database - regardless of what models
they use.
I hooked the RM360 to my computer with the USB cable and it interpreted it
as just another disk drive - much like a digital camera. I looked on the
2gig SD card and the only thing that resides there are standard computer
data files. Very simple and straightforward. You would think that all they
would have to do is update those data files and all would be well in the
world.
It just seems too simple for there to be no support and no means to update
computer data files.

| I got a 360 about 2 months ago, and I had the very same questions as
you. I called Magellan support (800 707 9971). They said that the
thing can be updated via usb from your pc if you download an update
file. But, they couldn't say when any update would be available. You
should call them, see if you get the same answer, and then post the
result here so all of us can see it. Good luck.

| I gave you the same answer when you asked the last time. The upadtes are
done by the update file that would be downloaded from Thales. It will be an
..exe file with the map updates with the firmware.
