I just upgraded mine. WOW. It sure is a *significant* update.
The four new screens really add functionality. There is so much 'new'
stuff I feel like I just got a brand new, more advanced unit :-)
Thanks for posting this!

Nice update!
It makes you wonder if they are going to do anything similar for the
rest of the eXplorist line.
One of the reasons I changed from a Meridian Color to a Garmin 76Cx was
that the eXplorists had lost a number of the useful screens that had
been on the Meridians. Going from a Meridian Color was more like a
downgrade. Maybe a sidegrade at best.
I like the 76Cx, but I still miss some of the Meridian features that
Garmin was not smart enough to copy (like the SD card utilities menu).

Question - the Magellan website shows this upgrade for the "210
European" model but not the "210 North America" model. Does it work
on NA version? Thanks.

| Reports on geocaching.com report that it does. You'll have to change
from metric to English though.

Hmm.. when I go to the above link, there is no mention of North
America or Europe. There is just 'the' upgrade called
"eXplorist 210 Firmware Upgrade Version 3.2.53"
The web site appears to 'know' your location. It could be because
you entered a country when you first registered with them, or the
site has a script that looks up your IP number.
In the lower left column of the page, it says "Your Location is"
and a country is shown. Is this correct for you? If not, click
on "Change Location". Entering US or Canada should give you the
NA update.
FWIW I've successfully upgraded my North American eXplorist 210

That's correct. If you start from the main Magellan homepage, select
the "Support" tab and then select "Explorist Series" in the Product
Support & Updates window along with "explorist 210 North America" it
take you to a page that indicates there are no updates or upgrades
available. Selecting "explorist 210 Europe" from the previous page
does however take you to the link listed in your original post. Hence
my confusion! FWIW, I did install the upgrade on my NA (SE Texas)
version 210 and I am quite pleased. Looks like a Mini-Me of my
Merridian Gold now. All I had to do was change the default screen
settings from Metric to US. Thanks for the original heads-up.

Just got my 210 last week and was happy. Just applied this update and
man, I am even more happy now. The new 3D route screen is a bit on the
neat side. Now if only the weather would warm up a bit so I can try
out some geocaching
