September and still no update! Those Magellan wizards had better get
their XXX in gear if they want to get that update out before the end of

Sorry to burst your bubble but its not going to happen. This is the
2nd time this year they have pushed off this map update. This would
be time number 3. I highly doubt they will come through.

| My experience with Magellan, albeit limited, is that after about two years
they tell you that your unit is obsolete and will no longer be upgraded!

One Roadmate 800 for sale! Figure with the high Canadian dollar; should
be able to pick up a superior GPS of another make at a reasonable price.
At least a brand that has timely updates!!

I have been checking them online for months now. My maps are just
plain old and I get a bad feeling the Magellan does not care a bit.
Now it is mid October 2007 and no information is available about the
maps. I am planning to buy a new gps unit soon. I am going to look at
TomTom after this experience. My MRM 800 works but the old maps are a
pain.

What pisses me of is that I just bought this unit in August because it
was available at a good price. Before I bought it; I did the usual
research on the Internet. There it was; in plain English "Update
available in September". I therefore bought the unit thinking that I
could update. Now it appears that I am stuck with an out dated GPS!!
