Shipping To Magellan Ft Worth

| Here is some information for those of you that find that they must ship
there GPSR to the Magellan Ft Worth repair facility (either for warranty or
regular repair). The address you will be given will be a street address and
a suite number. After loosing my unit in the system for over a month,
making over ten phone calls to India, a visit to a postal customer support
unit (and three phone calls to them) I have put these facts together. The
building (street address) in Ft Worth is owned by AT&T. There are 5 suite
numbers at this address, 4 belong to tenants (Magellan repair is one of
these) The AT&T facility there is there main acceptance point for
bad/returned phones. Due to the high volume of small packages delivered to
this address, the Post Office deliveries them all to AT&T. AT&T does
secondary distribution. Do you see where this is going? My package was
insured and as far as the PO is concerned was delivered and signed for by
AT&T. Magellan says they didn't get it, the PO says it was received, I
can't make contact with AT&T, the people in India don't even know where Ft
Worth is or that the Magellan repair facility is in the same building with
AT&T.
Conclusions:
The Post Office is breaking it's own regulations by not delivering to the
stated address. Leading to a lot of insurance claims.
Magellan leaves it's customers with no valid way to intercede with a problem
like this because they only allow contact through India. They (the Indians)
never had a problem like this and didn't know how to handle it.
PO insurance is a necessity but don't forget to get a delivery confirmation
(tracking number). It would have been most helpful in this case.
Oh yeah!!! My GPSR finally showed up on my front porch, fixed and none the
worse for wear. (with no explanation)

Well, I guess if mine ever needs repair, I will just carry it there
myself. Benefit of living in Ft. Worth! And if you want the people in
India to understand where Ft. Worth is, just tell them it is 30 miles
west of Dallas. EVERYONE knows where Dallas is!

Never watch the telly, do you?

| Well, yes, Discovery Channels, anything history/archaeology,
not much else - to be VERY honest, not really worth it for me.
Why, is a Dallas being excavated, looking for pre-paleolithics?
I heard there was a problem sorting which were First americans! :)

Well, Dallas is a very dynamic city, and someone is always digging for a
foundation for something. when anything that looks like native american
remains are found, the site is usually examined for anything that can
add to our knowledge of those early americans.
