Just got myself a Maestro 4000. Took a trip into town yesterday (it
was very cold... around 18 degrees) and I noticed that my "Map" was
stuck on my home location. Once I was in town, I thought that maybe
the unit needed to be "reset", but this did nothing to alleviate the
problem. It did not move until I had been into town, back, and
entering my driveway. About the amount of time it would take for the
vehicle to really warm up nicely.

I don't see any forewarnings in any of the Magellan literature about
operation in cold temperatures. What do you think?

This is my first winter with a 3000T and I notice in the cold mornings, it
seems to take a lot longer to acquire the satellites (if I leave the unit in
standby mode in the car overnight). The other morning there was a warning
message on the screen to the effect of, "the temperature is below the
operating level." Even after the car had warmed up for a while, I couldn't
clear the screen. I had to reboot it and it was fine after that. The
overnight temp had dropped into the teens.

The manual says the battery will stop charging when the temp is below 32º.
It also says the operating temperature is 32ºF - 104ºF.
