If you are not getting errors like read errors, it may just be that the
GPS is slow starting up because it is doing a cold start. It does not
have an almanac to speed things up.
Put it some place with a good sky view and give 15-30 minutes or so
before you declare it broken.
Non operating storage temperatures for microdrives and laptop drives are
typically -40C to +70C (-40F to 158F).
If that does not come up in 30-minutes to an hour, and it was still
under warranty, I'd be talking to Magellan about getting it serviced.
Garmin gives a one year warranty on their refurbished products.
