How do you input co-ordinates (long/lat) into my gps unit? Thanks

I've not used that model but on the Meridians you would create a new
waypoint (long press on the Goto key) and then edit the coordinates to
put it at the desired location.

Thanks, I will try that.

Nothing happens when you press the GOTO button for a long time on the
eXplorist. It just takes you the screen where you choose from your
saved locations. I guess they changed things slightly between models.

What I do to enter coordinates directly on my 500 is press the MARK key.

This brings up the coordinates of your current position, but you can change
them to whatever you want. Just use the navigation key to move the cursor
up to the location box. (It will turn red). Click the navigation key
once to get into edit mode :)

Thanks for correcting that Mark, my Meridians do not have a Mark button
on them. That actually sounds like a good idea and better way to to that.

I still wish Garmin had studied the Meridians better as they designed
their "x" series models. And that Magellan had studied Garmin's
hardware, software features, and mapping policies better they released
the eXplorists. I like my 76Cx pretty well but I would have bought an
eXplorist XL if it had not been so uncompetitive with the Garmin.

I'm still wondering if Magellan is going to survive, it is pretty quiet
out there.
