| I have a roadmate 2000, I just updated the firmware and software to the
latest version 1.56. The screen now has a new Icon, Enhanced PIO however
it is greyed out. There is nothing on the web site telling what its for
but ther was a note in that Custom POI's are enabled. Does anybody know
what the custom PIO is and what the enhanced PIO is?
One further question, I have always noticed when using it the map shows
a small maroon dot at various places on the road when traveling. Anyone
know what it is?
Thanks

These sound like breadcrumbs. The term is taken from the fable of Hansel and
Gretel who used them so they could backtrack their way out of the forest.
There's a brief reference to them here:

It looks like they might have given you 2200T features with the 2000
firmware update. Or perhaps the firmware update just lays the foundation for
these features in the next RM 2000 maps and software update, which you'll
probably have to pay for. They did something similar for my RM 700 when they
released maps and software update Version 5 that essentially upgraded the RM
700 to a RM 760.
