| Joe,
I own the Roadmate 700, not the 2000. However I did find the following
Roadmate 2200T Reference Manual, which does explain the Enhanced POI
interface:

The fact that your Enhanced POI icon is greyed out probably means that this
feature isn't yet implemented on the 2000.

I didn't notice that you also mentioned "Custom POIs". They're a feature of
the Roadmate 700 and 800 series models. Here's a link to the RM 760
Reference Manual that explains them:

No you have to hit the top of the screen and then it shows you where you
are, lat, long, alt, town
