| Just got my update dvd this week and performed the update without a
hitch. Took about 3 hours. One question for anyone else who has
upgraded. My screen now has a black T in the lower right hand corner
which wasn't there before. Hvae looked through the tutorial, manual,
and Magellan website to find out what it is to no avail. Anyone know?

| Glad you received your update. I ordered the update at the end of November.
I keep getting the run around from Magellan. Each time I'm told another
week. Finally, I told them to F**k off. and called my credit card company

| I have nothing but praise for Magellan, I ordered an update for my roadmate
760 on 26th November. It was shipped on 11th December and received about a
week later. we performed the update yesterday and it went without a hitch.
I had an update disc in summer 2006 and had difficulty with that but it may
have been a clash with windows 2000. I e-mailed Magellan Tech support and
they responded with a couple of suggestions which did not work. when I
contacted them again, they sent me a prepaid label to have it collected and
shipped back to them. I got it back about two weeks later working fine. I
have contacted them once since with a problem which was my failing to
understand the way a setting worked. They responded quickly with the
information I needed. From the dealings I have had I can only say I am very
happy with both the GPS unit and Magellan. I can only think of one other
useful addition and that would be full UK postcodes.

I'm happy for those of you that had luck with the update, in my case,
all the opposite. The update eliminated the naming of the streets and/
or intersections, took me about 10 hours during a two day expand,
talking to people from India that do not give you names, just a #, I
was transferred from department to department, until 10 hours later I
was given a RA#. They received the unit on Monday January 7th, and now
they are telling me that will take another two weeks to repair, yes
repair something that the update cd did. As a Electronics Sales
Counselor, this quality of customer service have change my judgment of

| I hope you have better luck than me.. After just 1 1/2 years use My 760 just
died and they told me that they no longer support or service that model...
Had to buy a newer model . I am really ticked off at the way they handled
the whole thing.

| Ok, I got the 760 back. To perform the map upgrade I copied the contents of
the dvd to a folder on the d: drive, because doing it from the dvd created
to many disconnects, I also closed al the programs running in the
background, disable the screen saver and the power futures. Took about 2Hrs,
and now is working properly.
However; this experience I went through would not recommended to anyone:
-Purchased map update
-Installation does not work from DVD
-Copied DVD to D: drive and installed it
-Installation damage unit
-10 hours on the phone within two days to get RA#, talking to people that
transfer my calls from dept. to dept., leaving me on hold for
hrs.
-Had to pay for shipping although their software made the damage
-A 3 week turned around
Never again I would purchased any thing from Magellan

| My experience was the opposite. I had a 760 that I sold to a friend. I got
the update for him as part of the deal and it went flawlessly. It did take
a couple of hours, but that is to be expected when copying almost 8 GB of
data over USB 1.x. This was on an old 450 MHz system with an old 4x DVD ROM
drive. I just thought I would add a bit of positive news to the mix.
