I don't know why I'm having so much trouble getting information from
Magellan, forums or even here but, I own 3 Roadmate 700s and one has older
software and the other 2 have V5.14. Can or would anyone please tell me how
to update this software using one of the units with the newer software? I'm
thinking I need Roadmate Tools but no one will answer any of my inquiries
everywhere I've asked about it. Please help? Thanks

I'm not sure if this will help but.....
you may have to update the machines to the new release of 5.36. What they
told me when I got the new release from the web site is that it would ONLY
work with the serial number on my unit. What that says to me is that you
can't take the operating system from one unit and dump it on another. At
least not with any of the readily available consumer tools that I know
about. So to update the oldest version of your roadmates, you may have to
acquire both the update for 5.14 and then the update to 5.36. I didn't have
that problem so I don't remember researching that issue. I don't know if
Magellan charges for the 5.14 update.

I don't think this is particularly what you wanted to hear but at least now
you can say you got a response.
