Hi all! :)
I have a question about the Crossover GPS...
The unit is still waterproof when the headphone jack is plugged-in?!
I've not found any information about this...

Thank's!
And... sorry for my poor english! :)

Read the literature carefully.
It is probably "water resistant" and not waterPROOF; there is a big
difference.

As for the headphone jack, it may be inside a little sealed pod with only
the wires going into the unit.
You can't know this for sure without taking the cover(s) off but that act
itself would probably compromise the seal on the cover(s).

Your English is fine.

Look at the specifications, they say it is IPX-4:

That basically means it is OK with splashing water from all angles but
not things like full immersion.

If you can apply a gentle suction to the headphone jack (by mouth for
example) and can pull air through the jack, then it is not a sealed
jack. Some devices do have sealed jacks.

You may be able to see an O-ring or rubber seal where the plug enters
the jack, in that case the jack may be sealed better when the plug is in
place than it is when it is not.

The CrossOver is not waterproof or even water resistant as others have
mentioned. It is designed to be happy outdoors in the rain, mistakenly
dropped into a small puddle and picked up right away, or being spashed
occasionally on a boat. It is not designed to be put under water. The
headphone jack is behind a rubber seal and when the headphone is inserted, I
would say the rain proofing would be somewhat compromised. I use mine on my
motorbike in rain without any concerns and would leave the headphone jack
plugged in for light rain, but as soon as it got too heavy I would seal the
jack up, and likely stop riding my bike at that time.

Hope that helps. I am happy with my CrossOver for what I need it to do, but
if I were buying a GPS now, I would take a hard look at the Zumo series now
that I have learned they will accept topographical Garmin maps. It is that
street/topo/motorcycle friendly combo that I desire. The CrossOver is half
the price of the Zumo 550 and almost half the Zumo 450 though so I still
would consider it especially with my positive overall experience with my
previous RoadMate 760.
