Magellan 4040 altitude locator

| I had a Magellan 700 with an altitude indicator in the "locate field". Just
purchased a Magellan 4040 and cannot seem to find altitude. Is altitude
available on the 4040 and if so, how do I get it.
Thanks
Paul

If you haven't already, you should download the complete user's manual from
the Magellan site.
Search for Elevation.
From the map screen, you tap the direction indicator in the top left corner.
This is assuming that it is the same as my 4000.

| Thanks so much Ken for your reply.
I have the manual but not easy to get info I needed. Thanks to you I found
the altitude easily.

| From the main map screen the direction of travel is at the far left of the
screen at the top. Touch this and it will bring up the compass heading,
current location and the altitude.
