Seems to be possible to send/receive emails on this phone but what do I need to
do to get it to work? I've tried setting it up with GMail, all the settings
match those in Outlook Express - what am I missing? Do I need to subscribe to a
special service to make this work?

Have you been to the SonyEricsson website? They have a section where you
input your details - phone, country, network provider, ISP, email address
etc and it then sends a message to your phone containing all the relevant
details and they can be saved to your mobile!

Here's the link
http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp...ate=ps3&zone=ps

Chegs.

Contract - Leisure Time+ I believe. Any idea which thing it should be trying to
connect thru? WAP, GPRS or whatever?

Use o2 mobile web

APN: mobile.o2.co.uk
username: o2web
password: password

I think WAP should work too (APN: wap.o2.co.uk) - but this will only work on
PAYG.

It wont let you download pop or imap email if you haven't completed the
fields properly in the email settings; i made that mistake by not putting
@ntlworld.com after my username, for example. Wouldn't even find the server
because it assumed i wasn't using a valid email address, more to do with o2
than the k750i though.

It definitely works....

Taylor, that sounds great but... I can't figure out where to put those settings
in. I'll keep looking, but if anyone else knows...

Cancel that! I found the settings. Not yet got it to work, but I'll keep you
posted, since I just KNOW you're all sitting there quivering and biting your
nails in anticipation.

;o)

Right, got incoming email working perfectly, but I'm getting "TLS/SSL unknown
certificate authority" when I try to send. Investigations continue...

Be aware lots of ISP's and so on will only allow you to send mail through
their servers if you are connected to one of their nodes. For GMail I assume
this isn't the case as it/they isn't an ISP, but it may be a problem. If, to
access GMail for sending, you have to input a username/password then it may
not work as I dont think the phone sends your login details for outgoing
SMTP.

Right, you'll need to ensure your 'smtp' server in the settings is *NOT* set
to your ISP's one.

It can *only* be:

smtp.o2.co.uk

Which allows you to send from a non-o2 account, of course... soo send
yourself a test e-mail ;)

Taylor - you've done it. Thanks! Got it working with the incoming server/login
etc. for GMail (enryption ON) and the outgoing as smtp.o2.co.uk, port 25,
encryption OFF. This is via O2 Mobile Web. If anyone else wants to know just
ask...
