Jabra BT200 and Nokia 6680 setup problem
|
|

| Hi. I seem to have paired the two items, but when I press the button on the
headset, I hear the beep to let me know I should say a stored name, but the
phone is telling me it doesn't recognize any names?
If I choose the name from the phonebook, and start the call from the phone,
then it works fine through the headset, and I can hang the call up from the
headset too.
The Jabra is almost 3 years old, so could it be a bit out of date, or am I
not pairing it correctly or something? Any recommendations of a new BT
headset? I really like the Jabra though.
Any help would be great
Cheers
Chris

| Have you given any of the names in your phonebook voice tags?

| Don't know if this is related, but my 6680 wouldn't initiate voice dial
correctly with my Plantronics bluetooth headset until I had the
firmware updated. I was running firmware version 3.04.35, now on
v4.04.07. This has also fixed the problems I was having initiating
voice dialling through my nokia CK-7W carkit.
Is the phone making the "doop-diddly-doop" noise to prompt you to say
the name? It's worth noting that I noticed voice recognition in the
6680 is nowhere near as reliable as it was for me with my 6310i (which
is a *lot* older!), so it may be that it just isn't as good.

Thanks for this, and yes I have set up voice tags, and it did actually
recognize a voice dial attempt once, but that was it!
The phone is making the "doop-diddly-doop" noise , but just not picking up
the name.
My phone has version 2.04.15 04-03-05 RM-36 , which I guess is out of
date? Where do I get the update, and does this cost me anything?
The phone is 3 weeks old, and on the THREE network in the UK.
Thanks again for your help.
Cheers

No, I didn't. But that does make sense. I will try that now.
Thanks

| And with regard to the software update, you should be able have this done at
your local Nokia Level 4 service centre.
Details of where the nearest one (for you) is, may be obtained from Nokia
01480 434343, or I believe from their web site.
Good luck (and happy voice dialling) :-)
