Bizarrely they announced that they would keep the name and UK management.
Odd really when you consider that after the massive launch and build up, the
new O2 name now has nearly as much credibility as the old BTCellnet one.

Most people don't change network lightly, so why has O2's market share
dropped as customers have switched to other networks - it is hardly the
blandishments of the other networks' cheap calls and free phones, but more
the standards of customer service and honourability provided by O2.
