I thought people in this group may be interested to know that we are
launching a new calling service via a geographic number!

It will now be possible to call most popular international destinations
using unmetered landline calling packages, or landline only inclusive
minutes on mobile phones.

In order to use this service you must activate your line to use our service
for a particular day by calling a £1 per call premium rate number. Once you
have activated your number, you will be able to call any of the destinations
for as long as you like on that particular day. You can also use the
activation number to activate a different line from the one you call it
from. E.g. you can call the activation number to activate the geographic
call-through to work from your mobile, or a friend's landline.

Call 0911 400 0700 enable you line and then use the access number 0151 909
0700 to make call to any of the destinations below:

Australia
Austria
Canada
Chile
China
Denmark
France
Germany
Hong Kong
Ireland
Italy
Netherlands
Norway
Portugal
Russia Moscow
Russia St Petersburg
Singapore
Spain
Sweden
Taiwan
USA

Why so ? It wouldn't be of much use to me, but for
someone who makes lots of international calls in a=20
day (such as a "call Pakistan" PCO), =A31 plus=20
indvidual geographic calls' cost isn't that bad.

I wonder if the day is a rolling one. I wouldn't want
to dial a =A31/' number at 23:00, and only get 1 hours'
usage out of it.

It will be cheaper than 18866 in some circumstances.

Interesting, although I think buying x mins of call time which would last, say,
a month would be more useful.

I wouldn't like to pay £1 to phone my mate in France only to be told "he's not
in - try tomorrow, or try his mobile" (I presume you can't use this service to
call mobiles in the countries listed? Other than perhaps USA/Canada?)

It will be cheaper that 18866 if you wish to make a call/calls lasting for
over 50 mins if landline calls themselves do not cost you anything.

I dont see Pakistan on the list anyway.. + most, if not all of the
countries on the list can be called for 0.5p /min anyway, using other
providers.

I personally wouldnt want to use it.
