Author Three PAYG & PAC restrictions

I am on a Three contract which expires soon, and I want to transfer to
ThreePay until I find a new contract phone which I can affored.

No problems I'm sure in getting Three to do the downgrade, and have done a
few times in the past on Voda, Orange, and O2.

But how long do I have to have the ThreePay active before they will give me
a PAC? Is it based on spend, or will they do it more or less straightaway?
I don't expect to have a new contract until at least March, so it is not as
easy as keeping my sub going a little longer, but don't want to be caught
out either.

TIA
Jon

A PAC has no bearing on your spend or anything else. The only thing that
will stop you getting a PAC is if you owe Three money.

Are you sure? I've read of people having to wait a month after changing
to PAYG. Be handy to know for definite.
