I have a phone I bought from Orange and it needs registering. Do they lock
it when you register because I want to use an O2 sim card in the phone as
well.

try the o2 card now, it's not the phone they lock, it might be already -
it's the orange sim they register.

yeh the O2 one works for calls and sms - but no WAP/MMS - I've no idea how
to enable this - or even if its possible - I've entered all the correct
stuff in the wap profile like IP address and everything - still doesn't
work. Looks like I'll be registering with orange for the mms and wap..

No, the sim card needs registering.

No. If it is an Orange phone, it will probably be locked already. If
not, registering will make no difference. Try the O2 sim and see if it
is locked.
