Author K750i headset volume won't work - ideas how to fix?

A few weeks back I tried to make a couple calls with my new K750i and there
was silence on the headset - although the screen showed the call had been
answered. I subsequently found out the person I'd called could hear me,
although I couldn't hear her phone ring, nor when she answered. I turned
the phone on and off and that seemed to correct the problem...until today.

This happened again and despite turning the phone on and off several times,
I still couldn't hear anything. I then hit the "speaker" soft key and found
that although it didn't activate the speakerphone, I could hear the other
person if I put my ear to the headset. In other words, it works as it
should as a normal, non-speakerphone headset.

Has anyone come across this? Know how to fix this, as I don't really want
to take it into a service centre. I noticed there's a "master reset" that
can be selected under the settings menu, but am not sure if that would have
any bearing on the problem - and even if it did, am understandably not too
keen to wipe all my data and settings, so am looking for alternatives.

Cheers,
Gus

Perhaps try updating the phone's firmware using the Sony Ericsson
website and the cable that came with the phone. That won't delete your
data and settings.

Is this with a blue tooth head set or wired??

We have the same problem in that the G2 Bluetooth head set you can
hear the ring and the calling party can hear you BUT you cant hear the
calling party.

does this sound the same as you are having ??

This is just using the phone - no headset used bluetooth or otherwise.

Sorry for the late response - haven't had access to e-mail for the past
while.

KQ,
Just did it. Fingers crossed this will work and thanks for the suggestion.
