Author 3G car antenna?

I have a Nokia 6680 and am getting a bluetooth car kit fitted. It is
the Nokia CK-7W kit and the Nokia CR-27 cradle.

They will also provide an internal antenna which looks like a little
strip. They say it is dual band. The car already has an external
antenna in the centre rear of the roof. The antenna must be between 1
to 5 years old but apart from that, I know nothing about it because it
was on the car when I bought it.

My questions are:
1. Should I try to use the external antenna of indeterminate age rather
than the brand new internal antenna?

2. Is there a special antenna for phones that also do 3G or should I
accept the dual band antenna?

Well assuming that it IS a phone antenna (~5 - 10 cm long) then yes.

No

Not if the one on the roof works and you can connect to it. This is a much
better position than inside the screen.
