SE K750i - Memory Stick Query
|
|

| I'm looking for a 1Gb memory Stick Pro Duo for this phone and have
noticed that Comet is selling one of the 'High Speed' ones - MSX-1GN -
here:
http://www.comet.co.uk/comet/html/cache/618_272221.html
(and in store) for £99.
A bit dear granted. But will this work with the Sony Ericsson K750i?
I am not keen on third party memory because, in the past, I've had
trouble with it - especially SANDISK brand. Also - if your device
develops a fault and you have to take it back to Sony, they blame the
third party memory first.
TIA for any advice.

the W800i is supplied with a 512 Sandisk stick..............so I cannot see
them complaining.
do a Google search and you'll find the Sony ones for £77 and Sandisk £74
http://www.mobymemory.com/ Memory_S...emory_Cards.asp
for my wife's K750i I bought a Sony 512 off ebay and it did not
work...........it was replaced by the seller.

Sandisk & sony's don't always go.
A good point would be typing in "dsc-p200 error sandisk 1gb" into google and
having a browse.
I know this from my sony p200 camera, and apparently it can stem to phones
too. Wouldn't surprise me if it was sony's fault as opposed to sandisk's.

| Thanks all. Your invaluable input and further enquiries have prompted
me to order the Sandisk 1Gb from Picstop:
www.picstop.co.uk
£70 including Royal Mail Next Day Special Delivery.
I see this stick comes with a 5 year guarantee. Plus, since my
original post, I've noticed that the place from where I bought the
phone is selling these same Sandisk sticks for £100. So, looks like
I've saved £30.
Clearly the price of MS memory is coming down. Last Christmas I had to
pay £70 for a 512Mb full-length MS Pro for a Sony camera.
Incidentally - the other bits I bought for the K750i were:
1.The SE deskstand.
2 The SE car charger.
3. Krussell leather case. You can put the phone in the deskstand while
in this case.
Also - I was pleased to learn from another poster here about Nokia's
Multimedia Converter 2.0.
http://www.forum.nokia.com/main/0,,034-63,00.html
Last night I converted an episode of 'Hi-de-Hi' from DVD and it plays
okay on the K750i. But Nokia's app doesn't like DIVX files
unfortunately.
Many thanks again for your help.

That was a great price. I just got the 1Mb Sandisk normal (blue) one
this morning from Picstop and it was £70 including delivery. It came
with a MS adaptor. I'd be keen to hear if you think the gaming stick
performs any faster than the standard type. Also - how long from your
date of order did Neodisc take to deliver the product? Today the
Neodisc web price has risen to £64.57 and shipping is 2-3 days (which
suggests they don't have any stock).
Sometimes I shun the cheapest price in favour of a firm with good
stock and a reputation for delivering next day via a 'reliable'
courier, or Royal Mail (who are 99.99999% reliable round this way).
But Picstop were a day late dispatching - so I'll be thinking twice
'next' time.

Mine came today (they had such a demand, generated by this group, that they
had to back-fill orders).
worked first time in my SE-V800 and is a handy size card for video and audio
tracks.
cheers, DavyPaul (at home with too much time on his hands!)
