| I am thinking about having my handset unlocked but I am not sure about
the process it invloves. Do I need any hardware to do the unlocking or
do I just insert the unlock code once I have been provided with it.
Thanks in advance.

Depends on what phone it is. Vast majority can be unlocked without having to
buy any "hardware".

Apart from Nokias 99% of other phones need some sort of "hardware"
unless you use a code from the provider.
