Author Linking up mobile phone to pc.

I've just linked up my mobile to my pc and im using the software that I got
with my V3. I decided to edit some mp3s that I have got on my hard drive
using the appropriate software. I've edited down a 3 minute song to 15-20
seconds of highlights and sent that mp3 to my phone. The results are great.
I'm using these small snipets of songs as ringtones. Much cheaper, better
and more real than paying money for a true tone or a real tone. This way I
can edit any song I want and have it as a ringtone very easily. Does anyone
else do the same?

Cheers,

Yes, and have been for years. Currently using first 30ish seconds of
Spitfire by the prodigy.

What sound editing software do you use? I'm a Sony Soundforge 8 man
myself.

Sound Recorder built in to Windows. It reads and writes MP3s, crops sound
tracks, and allows you to choose ithe quality when saving back to disk.

Do you know how to shift the frequency up to make the sample easier to hear
from the phone?

Slatts

Do you mean to make it louder? Process > Volume.

I'm using Mixmeister Pro. I know it isnt specifically used for such projects
as making up ringtones (it's more for mixing mp3s) but it does the job
great.
