Phones 4U..... Interesting HR Policy

| For my sins, I was interviewed for a managers job with this lot on
Wednesday.
To quote the recruitment manager I spoke with:
'Our ideal sales associate is a 19 year old with a coke, booze and
whores habit. It gives them a reason to sell.'
Astoundingly, I didn't walk out at this point, but was invited to attend
a 2nd interview with the area sales director. After arriving on time and
being told they were running over an hour behind and to get a coffee I
decided not to bother - telling them what an unprofessional shower of
shit they are.
Possibly slightly off-topic, but it goes some way to explain the hassles
people have with them.

You would have felt a lot better (and probably saved your time posting
here) if you had told them what a complete unprofessional shower of shit
they are.

Don't you currently work for Carphone Warehouse?
Has the pressure of being faced with disciplinary action if you fail to
sell enough talktalk finally got to you?

Shockingly I find that I am not surprised. I'm sure you could probably
get that HR "manager" into some hot water as well.

Erm, I did tell them..... but I thought I'd share it with the group.
I've never been so astounded by a company in my 15 years in retail.
Arrogance wouldn't even begin to describe them.

That's the second cokehead to reply to this. The other one sent a
'hilarious' email.
I think I may have touched a raw nerve here.

I can't be arsed.
This thread seems to have brought all sorts of (or maybe only one)
nutters out of the woodwork.

lol - so the stories are true about P4U; they really are as shocking behind
the scenes as there are in front of them!! Love it......
Steve - I take your comment with a very large pinch of salt!!
Man, I should come back here more often - I'm missing out....

It's been useful for me I think. I have learned from this newsgroup
that Jamster = Phones4U = Docklands Telecom = scum. I've also got some
ideas as to what to say next time I'm cold called on my mobile
(registered with the TPS). So thanks, and please ignore the wankers.
Cheers

I went for a managers job with them 4 years ago and when questioned 'one of
your staff has worked 10 days in a row and he looks tired, his figures are
down, what do you do?' I replied, a) why 10 days in a row and b) ask him
what he thinks is wrong and c) make sure he has the next day off.
I didnt get the job as the area manager thought I was not hard enough, OH,
and my interview was an hour late, I think they do it deliberately..

For what I hear CPW is not all that different behind the scenes. Fancy
the thread of disciplinary action if you fail to sell your target of
talktalk against connections...
Bet no one at CPW wants to sell a sim only pack any more as that
probably means another 0.25 talktalk connections or whatever.
Charles is still building the empire and good for him, but when he takes
his eye of the ball, when he gets bored, what then!
