Author Cheapest international texts?

Does anyone know the cheapest source of international texts?

I used to be with O2 a couple of years ago, and international text
messages were included in your monthly allowance.

I've noticed now that no operators seem to offer international texts as
part of inclusive allowances.

I am currently using O2 prepay, and with one of their bolt-ons gives me
them for 10p a go.

Is this the best way? Is there anything cheaper out there, or part of
inclusive bundles?

I'd quite like to use 3G services, but then I'll have to sign up for
monthly packages at =A315 per month, plus =A37 worth of international
texting.

Anyone have any ideas?

Cheers,

Joe

I too would like to have cheap International Texting but right now I
cannot find anything useful...

What I have done is set up email on my phone and email on the person's
phone I am texting in Poland and we can both check for messages on
GPRS for free (as it is in my allowance)....it is a little sloppy as I
have to set my phone to check for emails every 30 mins....but it'll do
for now....

Out of interest, what is the cheapest pay-monthly for international
texting?

I think O2 pay-monthly is bizzarly, more expensive than O2 pre-pay
(with bolt on).

Good question.
Now that Orange is upping its rate to 19p for international text, I
would appreciate a little summary for contracts:-

Orange 19p
Vodafone 24p
T-Mobile ??
O2 ??

Can anyone fill in the blanks? I think T-Mobile was 20p once upon a
time, but I haven't had a contract with them for ages.
