SonyEricsson K608i on Three & chatterbox.com

| Hi all,
I am after the K608i on Three, but not sure where the best deal is.
I saw an advert for www.chatterbox.com in my local paper. They have it
on T&T600 for 9.99/month for 11 months on an 11-month contract. However,
having searched extensively this group I found a number of posts dating
back to 2002 and 2004 about this company. Apparently, they were a bunch
of crooks then. Unfortunately, no information has been posted about them
since. Does anyone have any experience of them in recent years? Do they
pay the cashback as promised? Reading their T&Cs they do seem to be
rather picky with submitting cashback claims and cancellations and
returns (£35 'admin fee' for all returns).
Also, I wanted to ask about porting numbers to Three. Can this be done
at any time after purchase on the Three network?
Thanks in advance guys!

| Best to stick to well known National companies when getting involved in
cashback deals. Better still avoid dealers altogether and get the phone
direct from a network. All of them have some excellent deals available right
now on the k600/608i.
You can port a number anytime to 3 after you join but just make sure the
service is OK for your needs. In many parts of the UK it is nowhere near as
reliable a network as the others because it cant seamlessley switch onto a
GSM backup.
Good bets for reliable dealers on-line are CarphoneWarehouse and their
subsiduraies (e2save.com and onestopphoneshop.com). Others to consider are
The Link and Dialaphone.

Thanks talk3g. I will do just that - not port my number immediately,
wait a bit after getting the phone and package. Then, if all is well,
I'll get my PAC from the old network and move the number to the Three
phone. Once I have my PAC, is it just a matter of calling Three on 333?

I've checked the deals on the sites you mention, and they don't appear
to be as good as Chatterbox.com. Can I do a price match or is that the
best I'm going to get?
Thanks again

| Just call 333 from the handset to port your number when you decide.
BTW Chatterbox now have this handset at 99p/month (12 month contyrcat) if
you buy a £5/month text bundle...... seems good value. Bearing in mind the
previous poor publicity about this outfit its unlikely anyone will price
match the deal but you could ask!!

Thanks for your post, talk3g.
I'm not sure if I'm reading a cached page, but if you're talking about
the big square/box sized button advert on their site, unfortunately it's
not what it seems.
If you click it and add that offer to your basket, it then tells you
it's subject to an 18-month 100% cashback deal from vodafone, which is a
bit dirty if you ask me. I already have a vodafone contract as my main
phone and have no intention of getting another. Also, as has been
suggested in this thread, there's no guarantee they'll pay up - and two
contracts just increases the risk involved!

It sounds to me as if you are seeking the cheapest deal, not the best
deal. There is a big difference.
