Seeking help on the following matter, thanks in advance for reading...

I am currently in the US and want to divert all my incoming calls on
vodafone (pay monthly)to a UK number (0844). I have tried using the
phone settings as well as the GSM codes *#21#.... but to no avail. I
just get a message saying 'divert not set'. I also tried to divert it
to a US number and that didnt work either.

Is this a known problem? Is there a known resolution?

Any help will be gratefully accepted.

Regards

Maybe a silly question, but have you input the divert number as
+44844........... ??

Apologies if I'm asking the obvious..

Kevin,

I tried all combinations including the one you have suggested. It turns
out that I can transfer it to a 0207 number. Does anyone know for sure
if voda are blocking non landline forwards? If so, will calling
customer services help?

The service provider's systems have an interface into the diverts so
they do have the ability to set and cancel diverts for you.

More than likely is that 0844 numbers are excluded from diverting for
some reason.

Not trying to be funny here, but *#21# is the code you use to check the
status of any diverts.
To set the divert I would use: *21*UK_number# where UK_number is in
international format of course, starting 0044. Then press the Send or
Call key.
To cancel this divert, use the code ##002# then Send or Call.
