I have the above which is about ten years old, the sim is locked to the
phone.
How can I unlock the sim so I can use it in another phone.
The sim is the old style credit card size but can be cut down to the smaller
size modern sim

There must be a way surely.
Is the sim locked to the phone as I stated?
Can I use the sim in another dega if I can find one.

Is the SIM still under contract, or PAYG? What company is the connection
with?
Can you not contact the network provider and get a new SIM?
Or you could get a new PAYG phone for a few quid and PORT the number into
it?

In article <A4c_e.692$hP.149@newsfe2-gui.ntli.net>, wayne@plonker.com
says...
> How do I port the number

At simple level:

1. Phone customer services, ask for a PAC code.

2. Buy a new (non-O2) handset/sim package (payg or contract), and tell
their customer services you have a PAC code, and other information they
would require.

3. Wait about 5 days, old number on new handset/network.

If you ring 02 they will send you a new sim card out with the same number I
did one a few months ago

They will also credit you with free $5.00

You can buy reconditioned dega phones which are connected to the Orange
network.
If this is the case then it must be possible to unlock the sim card, surely

The sim is locked to the phone.

The phone is locked to the sim.

Use both, or use neither.

You can't. The handset and sim are inextricably linked.
