Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out the yearly cost of
these deals:

http://www.onestopphoneshop.com/index.php?&B[0][next][0]=3D&B[0][network]=
=3Dthree&B[0][make]=3DNokia&B[0][tariff]=3DPT600&B[0]& #91;handsetcode]=3DT
HR663=
0#

or

http://www.e2save.com/mobile/phones...Dthree&handset=
=3D6630& PHPSESSID=3Dc0130faa
4fb76d13644b737ced74
9544#top3

Do I pay ther full amount and then have to apply for all the money
back? I new to all this so any help is greatly appreciated. I'm
basically looking for a contract that will come with a phone similar to
that which will give me free x-network minutes anytime and free texts
for under about =A325. I hope someone can help, many thanks,
Maritn Banks.

Well the onestopphoneshop link above to any specific deal is broken (try
www.tinyurl.com!) but basically yes - you pay the network provider as
normal, and then you have to apply to OSPS or whoever for cashbacks - it
comes out of the network provider's subsidy. OSPS don't much like
paying so you have to jump through all their hoops accurately; eg send
in the correct paperwork at exactly the right time, maybe 3 times during
the 12 month contract (they rely on a large proportion of punters
failing), and they send you cashback cheques. You hope! -
google this newsgroup for words like 'cashback' and 'OSPS' for lots more
info.

Basically cashback deals are a good idea if you can remember to apply
for the cashbacks, and you trust the firm concerned; a lot of them are
pretty fly-by-night. Best not to rely on the cashbacks happening and
assume the worst (ie, that you won't get them!) - then can you still
afford the tariff?

A lot of folk poo-poo these deals but I've used them for years and never
got burned. Currently on a deal which gets me a free pretty mobile and
100 peak mins x-network/month, at a net cost of zero over 12 months... I
only have one more cheque from OSPS to go now!
