| O2 are really winding me up...
I emailed them about 6 months ago asking to swap my prepay SIM for a 3G
one, they told me they weren't able to do this yet, as it was early
days I left it.
I've just asked them again, and apparently I must buy a 3G prepay
handset from them if I want a 3G prepay SIM.
I think this is ridiculos, I have a Nokia 6880 that they sell to their
pay-monthly customers, so there's no compatibility issues.
Anyone any idea what the problem is here? I might drop a line to OFCOM,
as their remit is to provide consumers with a mobile phone network, not
force them to buy hardware.
I'd move to another operator in an instant, however O2 prepay has the
cheapest international sms rate that I can find at 10p a go with a
bolt-on, and considering 80% of my usage is international SMS, I can't
really go anywhere else. I'd just like to try my new phone's 3G
features...

| Coverage is non existant unless you live in a city, just so you're aware.

| I have heard... I live in London and don't really venture out of it,
so it would be beneficial for me to have!

| you'd be better off switching to someone else, i think. try vodafone.
good coverage and better service.

| i would, but they charge 25p per international SMS.... Therefore my =A38
per month that I'm topping up with on O2 would change to =A320 if I went
with Vodafone.

Cant help on the 3G prob but I use O2 prepay as well. They give free texts
inland and yes I agree they seem to be the cheapest. But I also have a contract
O2 which I pay a year in advance for so I get half price rental. That gives me
free calls to O2 and BT landlines after 7pm and weekends.I call alot abroad and
use mobile world sim from carphone warehouse which gives me 10p min
international calls.Thats cheaper than texting here with some phones. So you see
to get the best deal all round I am using 3 sims.
I was thinking if you knew someone with a prepay 3G phone from them then they
could ask for a second sim!!!! (and give it to you)
