Hello All

I have a GPS system for my car which uses bluetooth to connect the GPS
receiver with a Palm PDA. When I want to use my cellphone in the car
using a bluetooth wireless earpiece I either lose one or both devices.
Is it possible to have two such bluetooth enabled systems running at
the same time? It seems to me that as long as I can figure out a method
to give unique addresses to each of the devices it should be possible.
Am I wrong on this?

Hello Phanindra,

It depends on which device you want to tdo the simultaneous connection.
Are you trying to make calls with the palm (BT headset) at the same time as
navigating with the palm (BT GPS)? If so then I don't think it's possible
as
the Palm doesn't AFAIK support multiple bluetooth connections.

I have a Nokia E60 which supports up to six, and can confirm that I can
use the GPS and the headset at the same time. I haven't quite worked out
what I would use six connections for, but you never know...

PS Does anyone know if you can get a device which takes a bluetooth GPS
signal and generates two copies. Sometimes I want to use both my 9500 and
my E60 with the BT GPS but only one can connect. Failing that, is there a
bluetooth GPS which has multiple bluetooth connections?

Yes, but no. Each device has its own unique code but it depends on the
handset and how it's been configured.

It sounds like you have four Bluetooth enabled devices, the PDA, the GPS
receiver, the handset and a headset. These four should not interfere or
interoperate with one another unless you've enabled this. If you have
three - it's a Treo say - then as Al says, you can't do this, PalmOS only
allows one concurrent connection.

Curiously enough Sony Ericsson from at least the T610 have had great
multiple-Bluetooth device support. It's possible to Bluetooth a number to
dial from a PalmOS device to the handset, then the handset transfers the
call to your headset, say.
