Hi

Does anyone know how to go about unlocking this phone? Can it be done
free of charge?

Any info appreciated,
Ed

Hi,
Thanks for the link steve. I have unlocked the phone successfully, but
am still trying to get it to work on the 3 network. I have inserted my
3 SIM card, and it says "Service Provider is locked, Please input
unlock code". Is this a standard code or will it be specific to my SIM?
and anyone know how to find it?

Thanks
Ed

I don't know for sure. It sounds as though it is still SIM locked. Have
you tried another networks SIM in it to see if it is really unlocked?

Just tried an O2 sim and that gave the same message, so that unlocking
software unfortunately hasn't worked. Can anyone suggest any other
reliable methods of unlocking the SPV m3100.

also anyone who has managed to unlock this phone, does it work on the 3
network?

Hi Ed

I unlocked my SPV M3100 (succesfully) via imeicheck.co.uk (but had to
pay =A320!).

Try running the unlocking software again - I've had to do this
previously when using free unlocks for spv m5000 and spv m500.

Check out www.xda-developers.com for further advice if this is not
successful.

Phone Orange and pay for the code. It costs £20 but will work.

No, but you didn't tell us that did you! You could do by buying a 3G
PAYG SIM pack, registering it (quoting the IMEI of your device when
asked) and then get it done officially.

Just managed to fully unlock my phone. It turns out that the free
unlocker available at http://pof.eslack.org/hermes-unlocker/ had worked
all along. What I hadn't realised, and what wasn't completely clear in
the instructions, is that the "service provider unlock code", is simply
the same code as the first one you enter, so you just have to enter
that code twice.

And I can now confirm that this phone, once unlocked, does work on the
3 network!

Merry Christmas
Ed
