Help needed with MDA 'nag'

For my sins, I have a T-Mobile MDA Vario.

Using the WiFi connection to access points works fine.

However, when I connect to any that require WEP and/or MAC address
validation, the MDA connects for around two minutes then loses the
connetion, even though it thinks it's still connected. This happens
regardless of the battery condition, signal strength and with numerous
connection points - even after having reset and re-entered both the WEP key
and MAC details correctly.

Any ideas?
