Author Handsets from Vodafone

I'd appreciate some advice on handsets I have been offered by Vodafone as
I am about to renew my contract.

They are offering the SE v600i (k600) free, or the Nokia 6230 for £25. I
sort-of favour the SE K750i myself, which they say I could have free.

I've checked online reviews for the 600i and the 6230 and some are quite
negative. Would anyone here have some words of wisdom for me as to which
phone they favour?

TIA

Ian

I would take the 750i unless you can get a n70 out of them.

I'd second that; but the N70 is pretty damn slow, and not as compact as the
k750i. The k750i is good, and I bang on about it on these forums when I get
the chance. They are not without fault, of course, like every phone in my
experience, but they are very very good for what they do.

The thing that worried me about the v600 was that every review bangs on
about how quiet the ringtones are, resulting in missed calls. I'm a bit
mutton anyway, so that's really put me off. See here, for example:
http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/...csson-v600i.htm

I take the point, though, about them being scarce. I don't have to decide
until Monday, so I'll await any further views here.

Thanks to all,

Ian

which I've gone with!

Oh no - this is worse than the V600i.

You should have gone with the K750i.

Oh dear - the reviews seemed quite positive. I'll have to live with it
now, though.

Quite fancied 3G - and they are throwing in Sky.

Not too bad - It's basically like an E720 / E730 but in 3G form and it's a
Qualcomm Based handset - it's not that bad, but personally a Samsung D600,
SE K750i, or the V600i - there is nothing wrong with these - just the camera
isnt the dogs bollocks but its good enough.

Suppose Sky is good - but you can get this with a Symbian Nokia on Orange -
a friend has Bravo and Men And Motor's etc on his N70 (i think its an N70).

Are they? I hadn't noticed. OK, they're nothing to compare to the Nokia ones
that seem to echo around the room, but I tend to use it on increasing ring
mode and I've never had a problem. And it's less annoying for everyone else
in the room that way.

I guess it's a matter of picking something that's suited to your hearing. I
use the high-pitched pieww-pieww noise, which is immediately identifiable
unless you're listening to rave music at the time...
