Hi, I've tried many forums etc and getting nowhere. You people are my
last hope

I have a new imate sp5 and an orange payg sim.

I cannot get gprs or wap working.

Error message is
Connection Error
Error
Cannot Connect. Verify you have network coverage and try again

When I try and connect to a url from exlorer the little G appears above
the strength meter and occasionally flashes once. Then it disappears
and a progress bar appears at the bottom saying 0 kb and then the error
message appears.

I am assured by orange that the sim is enabled
I can send mms photos (to myself) and from that I assume that WAP/GPRS
is working?

I have tried everywhich way for the settings - listed below

I have reflashed the sp5 with the latest os and manually set up the
settings in case the imate supplied cab was mucking up the registry.

Please someone - if you have an sp5 with orange or even with another
operator???

(I'm wondering if the proxy is correct as Orange tech support don't
know anything about it?)

Here are all the settings I can find: (wifi is working fine)

I have asterisked my selections.

I have only done one thing to get orange payg to work.

goto settings, connections, add connection

type in orangeinternet for the name

next

access point name orangeinternet

leave the rest blank

next until done.

thats it.

er, the web site for that phone says that gprs is not available for
it!!! or am I missing something? Thanks anyway.

I have had instructions sent from orange, but they don't work. The
phone is unsupported by them.

If anyone has an imate sp5???, but if someone could take a look at
their settings and compare with mine and if you notice anything that
seems different...
