Looks interesting, seems to be unlimited text over GPRS for a quid a week,
plus your networks data costs.

Also in the Times today ... when you go abroad with your uk mobile, log onto
the network that gives the cheapest rates. They ain't heard of Orange's
simplification then!

Yep, with Orange charging all foreign networks in a given region at the same
rate, you get shafted whichever local network you select. About the best you
can do is choose a network that's billed per second rather than per minute,
if you have the choice.

Alternatively, get a local SIM card.

Benedict.

Does anyone know the story regarding sending sms abroad?
There is only mention of roaming option on their site (which is
followed up in this forum regarding Orange tariff).

Does this mean they don't restrict international numbers?
..=2E.so for same data transfer / weekly rate I can dispatch SMS to mobile
in, say, Spain or Greece?

Now that would be worth paying the =A31 weekly charge + data rate!

It's nothing new, Steve.
Check out www.tex2me.com
AMAZINGLY --- it's free. I've been using it for a couple of months and
there really are 'no strings attached'. Spread the word.

Having got in touch with hotxt support I can now answer my own query!

* * *

At present one can only SMS to UK numbers.

* * *

As for Hotxt Out rates (UK SMS Only), this is still not clear...
I was told that at present by logging into "My Account" at
hotxt.co.uk you can choose to receive 5 free daily SMS credits as an
introduction to the service.

* * *

And if you do sign-up and wish to cancel, the the SMS STOP to 80468
will only cost you your standard operator rate.

This info is all based on what I was told by Hotxt support.

* * *
....now to take a peak at www.tex2me.com
(intial thoughts are: same thing, no weekly rate, probably lower
marketing budget!)

;o)
